Senate Resolution No. 5

Creating a Select Committee on Economic Development.

Resolved by the Senate:

That for a period of time not to exceed the term of the
seventy-fifth Legislature there is hereby created a Select
Committee on Economic Development. This committee shall consist of
thirteen members as appointed by the President who may authorize
payment of members' expenses incurred since January 10, 2001.
Notwithstanding the provisions of any Senate rule to the contrary,
this committee shall have jurisdiction of legislative proposals
affecting economic development as the President may deem
appropriate: Provided, That reference of a bill to the Select
Committee on Economic Development shall not preclude a standing
committee of the Senate from consideration of legislation
addressing the same subject within its jurisdiction. The rules of
the Senate governing standing committees shall govern the actions
and proceedings of this committee insofar as applicable.
